This story is about a young elephant who had a dream, but she didn't think she could make it come true because everyone told her that she couldn't. But luckily she proved them wrong.
Once upon a time, deep in the heart of the jungle, there lived a young elephant named DellieD. Dellie was a little different than the other elephants in her herd. She was bigger and rounder than the others, and she had a passion for dancing that they just didn't understand.
Every day, Dellie would watch the birds soar through the sky and the monkeys swing from tree to tree, and she would dream of dancing just like them. But every time she tried to dance with her herd, the other elephants would laugh and tell her she was too big and clumsy. "You'll never be a good dancer," they said.
Dellie was heartbroken. She loved dancing more than anything, but she didn't want to be made fun of anymore. So, she stopped dancing and spent most of her time alone, feeling sad and ashamed of her size.
But, things were about to change...
One day, as she was wandering in the jungle, she came across a kind and wise old elephant. The old elephant noticed Dellie's sad expression and asked her what was wrong. Dellie told the old elephant about her love for dancing and how the other elephants had made fun of her for it.
"I love dancing", she said. "It makes me feel very happy. I can forget about everything.
It's like magic, but everyone makes fun of me. So I stopped doing it."
The old elephant listened patiently and then said, "My dear Dellie D , you are unique and special. You were born to be exactly who you are, and you should be proud of it. Never let anyone dull your shine or make you feel less than you are."
Dellie was touched by the old elephant's words and felt a spark of hope. She decided to take the old elephant's advice and give dancing another try. From that day on, she spent all her free time practicing and experimenting with different moves and different speeds and different music. She learned how to use her size to her advantage and soon became a skilled and graceful dancer.
As she grew more confident in her abilities, Ellie started to enter local dancing competitions, and she began to win. The other elephants were amazed at her skills and started to apologize for doubting her. Ellie forgave them , she was just happy to have friends who supported her.
Finally, the day of the school dance performance show arrived. The stage was set up in a large clearing in the jungle, surrounded by tall trees and bright flowers, so many flowers. The stage was decorated with colorful streamers and lights, creating a magical atmosphere. Ellie was a little nervous, but she knew she had worked hard, and was ready to show off her skills.
She was wearing a beautiful pink tutu that sparkled under the stage lights and a matching headband with a flower on it. As she took the stage, all eyes were on her, and she danced her heart out. The audience was surprised and delighted by her performance, and they couldn't help but be mesmerized by her grace and talent.
"Wow, Dellie you are amazing!" one of the other elephants exclaimed.
"I can't believe it! She is dancing so gracefully, I am speechless" another said.
As she finished her performance, the crowd erupted in cheers and applause, giving her a standing ovation.
From that day on, Dellie was known as the best dancer in the herd, and she was proud of who she was. She had learned that it's important to love yourself as you are and to never give up on your dreams, no matter what others may say. And she lived happily ever after, dancing to her heart's content.

Once upon a time, in a lush green jungle, there lived an elephant named Dellie D. She was a curious and playful young elephant who loved nothing more than playing games with her friends all day.
She had been playing all morning with her best friend, Suzie, and her mum had called her in from the garden to go grocery shopping. Dellie D was not happy. She had been looking forward to the day, playing in the garden and having a picnic with Suzie, but now it seemed like all of her plans were ruined.
However, mum said in her no nonsense voice, "Dellie D, we need to go grocery shopping. We're running low on fruit and vegetables for our family."
Dellie D groaned. "But I don't want to go shopping, Mama. Can't we just stay home and play?"
Sadie, her mother, smiled gently. "I know you'd rather play, my dear, but we have to take care of our family. And going grocery shopping is a very important task. Plus, it'll be fun, I promise."
Her mum, was determined that they would go to the shop together - they needed food and more importantly, she had a special secret surprise in mind for Dellie D.
She explained that they needed to go to the store to stock up on some basic supplies and groceries, so she gently but firmly continued to suggest that Dellie D accompany her. With a heavy sigh, Dellie D agreed, "ok mum, whatever you sayyyy."
The two elephants set off towards the nearest town. The town was bustling with activity, and as they walked through the streets, Dellie D couldn't help but stare in wonder at all the different sights and sounds. This adventure was starting to become a bit exciting! They passed by colorful shops selling everything from clothing to toys, and Dellie D couldn't wait to come back and explore more.
They finally reached the grocery store. It was a large, modern building with bright lights and shiny floors. Dellie D's mother pushed a cart as they walked through the aisles, picking out fruit and vegetables. Dellie D was still a wee bit grumpy, but she couldn't help but be curious about all the different foods they were buying. They picked up bananas, bamboo, apples, and oranges. Dellie D's mother also grabbed some carrots, herbs, watermelon and the family's favourite treat, jackfruit.
As they shopped, they met a friendly parrot named Polly. She was shopping with her owner, a kind lady who was feeding her sunflower seeds. Dellie D was fascinated by Polly, and she couldn't help but stare at her colorful feathers.
"Hi there!" Polly chirped. "I'm Polly! What's your name?"
"I'm Dellie D," Dellie D said shyly.
"Nice to meet you, Dellie D," Polly said. "Are you enjoying shopping?"
Dellie D nodded. "Yes, it's not as bad as I thought it would be."
"I love shopping!" Polly said. "I always get to try new treats and meet new friends like you."
Dellie D smiled, and she and Polly chatted for a bit more before they had to go their separate ways.
As they finished their shopping and headed out of the store, Sadie, Dellie's mother suggested they stop at their favorite cafe for some tea and cake. Dellie D's eyes lit up - she loved tea and cake!
The cafe was cozy and warm, with the smell of freshly made tea and baked goods filling the air. They sat at a table by the window and enjoyed their tea and cake while chatting about their day. Dellie D was so glad she had gone shopping with her mother. She had learned that even though it wasn't her favorite thing to do, it was still an important and fun part of taking care of their family.
But what Dellie didn't know is that mummy elephant had another surprise in store. In fact it was the real reason why mum insisted that Dellie come shopping with her.
They went back to the store.
"Mum" said Dellie, "why are we going back in. Did you forget something?"
"You might say that," said Dellie's mum, Sadie, with a cheeky grin.
This time to Dellie's surprise they went into the same store, but by a different door that Dellie hadn't noticed before.
"Mum...mum...this is a pet store!" Delllie whispered, "why are we here...what are we getting here?"
She didn't dare believe that she was finally going to get a pet. She had been asking for one for months and refused every time.
"You've been so good with your school work, getting your homework done on time instead of waiting until the last minute. And you did really well at the dance recital. I think you're becoming quite a responsible young elephant girl," Sadie said gently,
Your dad and I are proud of you."
Dellie: "Mum, I'm so excited to get a new pet! Can I really have one?"
Mum: "Well, let's take a look around the store and see what catches your eye."
They wandered down the aisles, looking at all the different animals. Dellie spotted a small, fluffy white rabbit in the corner and ran over.
Dellie: "Oh, Mum, look! This one is so cute!"
Mum: "That's a nice one, but ohhh..let's see what else is here."
Dellie nodded and they moved on. As they were walking, Dellie heard a faint meow coming from a nearby cage. She peered inside and found a small gray kitten with bright green eyes.
Dellie: "Oh, he's so adorable! Can I take him home, please?"
Mum: "Let's take a closer look first."
Dellie bent down and the kitten, who she'd already decided to call Bubbles, immediately came up to her and started rubbing against her hand.
Dellie: "Hi Bubbles! You're such a friendly guy!"
Bubbles meowed in response, purring and rubbing against Dellie's fingers.
Dellie: "See, Mum, he likes me! Can I please take him home?"
Mum: "Well, I guess if he's willing to be your friend, then you can bring him home."
Dellie: "Yay! Thank you, Mum!"
From that day on, Dellie D didn't mind going grocery shopping with her mother. In fact, she looked forward to it, and they would often stop at her favorite cafe for tea and cake afterwards. She had learned that taking care of her family, her schoolwork and now Bubbles, was an important part of being a good elephant, and she was proud to help her mother with their grocery shopping.
